Subject additive and intended use: amending the food additive regulations to provide for the safe use of polyamideethyleneimine-epichlorohydrin resin prepared by reacting adipic acid and N-(2-aminoethyl)-1,2-ethanediamine, to form a basic polyamidoamine which is modified by reaction with ethyleneimine, and further reacted with formic acid and (chloromethyl)oxirane-alpha-hydro-omega-hydroxypoly(oxy-1,2-ethanediyl). The resin is intended for use as a retention aid in the manufacture of paper and paperboard intended to contact dry food
